About Lang Family
Please sign in to see more.
Welcome to the descendents of Joseph Lang and Jane Pellow and related familys, this

web site is mainly focused on their New Zealand descendents.

From the Copper Mines of Bormin, and farms of St. Cleer, notably Trethinick farm, Tremellick farm, St. Martins By Looe, St.Germans, Quethiock Cornwall, and Broadhempston Devon.

And the emmigration to New Zealand in 1864 of William and Susannah Lang (nee Bassett) to

Thames, New Zealand.

This "Lang" Family tree, pending further information begins with Joseph, born 1801 in

the Parish of Kenwyn, now a suburb of Truro, Cornwall. I have searched all available

information, but there is no firm confirmation of this other than a St.Cleer Parish

Census entry dated 1841 Therefore I would appreciate any information anyone may have

on Joseph Lang and Jane Pellow.

There are records of a Thomas Lang from Truro who died in 1849 aged 74, so born about 1775. He died in the Cholera epidemic in Cornwall in 1849. He would have been 26 at the time of Josephs birth. This is only speculation, as there is nothing to prove either way. Ref Cornwall OPC database FS1833-1837.

William Lang Snr. born 1834 married Susannah Bassett, the Bassett family ancestors can be

traced back to 1576.

See Henry Finch and Joan Davy of St. Germans, Cornwall.
